BudgetUp to €3 000
This budget buys older cars (2005–2015) with fairly high mileage. The main thing is to check the condition carefully.
Mid-range€5 000 — €10 000
The largest supply — newer cars (2012–2019) with sensible mileage. A good price/quality range.
Premium€10 000 — €20 000
Newer cars (2017–2023) with lower mileage, or premium models. Better equipment and more confidence in the condition.

📅 Age
The steepest drop is in the first 3 years (30–40%). After 7–10 years the price levels off.
🛣️ Mileage
On average 15 000–20 000 km a year is normal. Noticeably less or noticeably more moves the price.
⛽ Fuel type
Diesels are currently losing value faster because of emissions restrictions. Hybrids and petrol hold value better.
🔧 Condition and history
Service history, accident history and overall condition can change the price by 20–30%.

Can you buy a decent car for €3000?
